(AP) Singer Suzy Bogguss to Release New Album

Singer Suzy Bogguss' new album 'Swing' comes out tomorrow, and it completes a lot of personal and professional dreams and promises.

Bogguss takes a sharp turn from country music in the new album. Four of the tracks are old jazz standards, including Duke Ellington's "Do Nothing Till You Hear from Me" and Billie Holiday's "Comes Love." The rest are new songs that sound as though they were written 50 years ago.

Bogguss said part of the magic of the new album came from recording with Asleep At The Wheel's Ray Benson, a longtime friend who envisioned the album exactly as she did. "We were silly almost all of the time," Bogguss told AP Radio. "That was why there really is nothing purely serious about this record. There's no stop and think on this record. It's all about OK, don't think for a while. Don't think. Just relax, it's the end of the day, have some fun. It's a don't think record," Bogguss said.

Bogguss recorded 'Swing' in Austin rather than in Nashville, because she said it was more laid-back and better for getting that "greasy vibe."
